Frequently Asked Questions about Glass Splashbacks

Q: What is the difference between Standard glass and Opti glass?

A:       Standard glass has higher iron content within the glass, so when the colour has been applied to the back of the glass, the colour has a green mint tinge. Opti glass has low iron content and therefore the colour applied is not altered.

Q: What condition do the walls need to be for the glass to be installed?

A: The glass can be installed over almost any surface e.g. plaster board and fibre

Q: What needs to be completed for the splashback to be measured?

A: The kitchen or bathroom needs to be completely finished, including all fittings. All cupboards, bench tops, power points, holes, stoves and range hoods need to be in place.

Q: What is the lead-time from measure to installation?

A: The lead time is about 15-20 working days from the date we receive a signed contract and deposit.

Q: How is the glass installed?

A: The glass is installed by using a combination of concealed fixings and packing. The perimeters are then sealed with silicone sealant, making it water resistant.

Q: What colours are available?

A: Seaton Glass has over 200 colours available. We have a standard colour chart to choose from and can colour match if required. (An extra charge will be applied for available non-standard colour choices.)

Q: Is the glass safe for all areas?

A: Yes, the glass is toughened meeting the Australian Standards and making it safe for all areas affected by heat.

Q: How do you clean the splashback glass?

A: You can clean the glass with any form of glass cleaner and most general cleaning agents, which do not contain abrasive substances.

Q: What warranty do you give on the splashback colour?

A: Seaton glass gives a three year warranty from any colour defect or fading. (See Seaton Glass Specification sheet.)
